the courage to be
The Courage to Be book tells the stories of 11 LGBTI people, victims of hate speech, violence or neglected by institutions because of who they are. The mirror-like cover suggests readers to reflect and see themselves in these stories.

It was very challenging to choose the best layout for the book and we are really proud with the result. The interviews in the book were recorded in studio by radio journalist. Then transcribed and edited by a newspaper editor, who had multiple quotes and remarks that we had to include. So let's see: 1 interviewer, 1 or 2 interviewees, accents from the editor...

We designed and tested with people different layouts and fonts. And here is the final result. Three columns per page and every one of the participants has its own column so for reader to be more easy to keep in mind who he reads. We believe also this layout recreates in the most natural way the dynamic of the dialog between the participants in the stories.
